Permaculture, Fruit Trees, and Forest Gardens

Have you been dreaming of replacing the grocery store? How would you like to walk through your garden and get all you need for dinner?

It’s been my goal to grow all my own foods. But while some things just don’t grow where I am, like salt, pepper and sugar, and other things are a bit more of a challenge, like small grains, I try to at least grow everything that makes sense for me. One step toward low maintenance gardening, and growing a great variety of food, is to grow a permaculture food forest.

I don’t spend much time on elaborate designs, but I take the principles of Permaculture into account and then I start planting tree guilds with lots of perennial vegetables. I’ll be introducing much of this as I add more content. Stay tuned and check out all the fun things I have already posted.

Herb Gardening

Have you ever thought about becoming more self-sufficient and resilient? Would you love to be prepared in the case of supply-chain disruptions, devastating storms, or other disasters?

I know I like to be prepared for such situations, but really, I just don’t want to run to a store half an hour away every time I need something! Being prepared makes you more price-hike resistant and it can save you a lot of money long-term.

Being prepared is especially important when it comes to wellness and setting up a home apothecary. Learn all about herb gardening here and lots of ways to prepare healing salves, syrups, tinctures, and more.
